LABORATORY SERVICES

Quest Diagnostics Lab

(LabOne is now part of Quest Diagnostics)

We use Quest Diagnostics for most of our lab services because of the superior results they provide. The Quest Lab draw station is located at 513 N Alleghaney Ave, which is just North of Medical Center Hospital between 5th and 6th Street. Their phone number is (432) 332-9045. Their hours are 7:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm Mon-Fri.

ProPath Pathology Services

We use ProPath for all of our pathology needs. Again it is because of the superior results they provide us. Dr. McQuillin uses the SurePath Liquid based System for all of the PAP smears she performs. It provides the most accurate test results available for detecting abnormal cervical cells. We feel very strongly that the liquid based tests for PAPS are the only acceptable option for PAP smears. We do not want to risk missing a cancer by using an outdated system. There are a few insurance carriers that have not upgraded their standards and will not pay for this test. We do not perform the older slide method because of the increased risk of missing abnormal cells. If your insurance company does not pay for the latest technology you should contact then and try to have the coverage changed. If you choose to use SurePath and your insurance company does not cover it, you will have to pay extra for the cost of the test.

Medical Diagnostics Laboratories

We use MDL for special DNA and PCR testing when diagnosing certain infections. They provide the most advanced PCR testing for many of the lab tests we utilize.

A few insurance companies may requires patients to use a different than the ones we prefer. We do not have any control over the choices you and your insurance provider have agreed upon.
